Top 10 Books
“Reading has become a lost art.”
Robert Mattke – my Grandfather, Mentor,
and the wisest person I’ve ever known.
A poll done by the Associated Press-Ipsos in 2007, showed that one in four adults read no books at all in the previous year. I believe reading is one of the single best ways to improve your knowledge and character. Books are terrific tools for self-improvement, education, and personal growth.
These are the top 10 books that I’ve read that I have personally read. Find these books and more in our UberStore as well.
The books are in order of how they have impacted my life.

This is awesome! Can you make a Top 10 Movies too?? That would be great! It’s always nice to have a reference for quality film!

Great idea Mol.E.Long. I’ll do some research on it. I think I’d prefer to do a top 10 movies based on the impact the movie has on my life, or the lessons and values it provides, rather than simply on entertainment value.

Is there any way we can comment about the books specifically or write suggestions of “if you liked this one, you should try this one.”?
sotto on April 14th, 2009
bridgetstrub – I’d love to hear your comments about the books on this list and additional books to read. You can post you thoughts and suggestions right here in the comment section. I don’t have a way right now to have comments directly under the books, but I can look into adding something for that.

bridgetstrub – I redesigned this page to allow you to post comments on specific books by creating a page for each book. Let me know what you think.

I love the tribute at the top or your “Book” section! Over the past year or two, I have been devouring books by “Philip Yancey”—Disappointment with God—Prayer, Does It Really Make Any Difference—Reaching for the Invisible God. I have found that Mr Yancey tackles tough questions, and does NOT just give “pat answers”.

A lost art indeed. When does one find the time these days to grab a great book? I’ve heard a lot of great things about “The Shack”. Hopefully I can check it out.
