I like food. The only thing I like more than good food is good food that’s free. And I’ve found that there are several restaurants that would like to give me free good food, just because it’s my birthday. I’m on a quest to see if I can eat a full week of lunches (surrounding my birthday) for free. Here’s what I’ve found so far…
The key is to sign up for the birthday clubs with restaurants in your area. The plaza near the area I work is a gold mine. I have four major restaurants and three of them offer an entirely free lunch entree. (Panera doesn’t seem to offer anything in celebration of the day you exited the womb).

Moe’s Southwest Grill offers one complimentary entree (excluding fajita’s, which must be way too celebratory for one’s birthday) for your special day, and as an added bonus, when you sign up for Moe’s birthday club, you receive a free cup of queso. I’m not sure what queso is, but it looks like a cup of cheesy goodness for dipping your nachos.

Red Robin is near the top of my list of favorite restaurants. As far as burgers go, Red Robin has the best burgers I have ever feasted on. My absolute favorite is the Sauteed ‘Shroom burger. I also have delighted in the Bruschetta Chicken Burger. And to be honest, those two are so enjoyable I have not made any attempts at trying any other menu items, aside from the Just-In-Quessadilla’s – and they are just as magnificent. Join their e-club here to get a coupon for a free gourmet burger coupon near your birthday.

Uno Chicago Grill believes that people should be treated like Numero Uno on their birthday, so they offer you a free entree as well. Uno’s also offers a free appetizer when you sign up for their Insiders Club, but it’s with the purchase of two entrees. The birthday coupon is good for an Individual Deep Dish Pizza, Flatbread Pizza, or Entree. I’m not sure what the limit is on which entree’s you can choose from, but I know their sirloin steak tips are delish.

Cold Stone Creamery would like to offer you one of their Cold Stone Creations for being a member of their Birthday Club. If you’ve ever enjoyed one of their desserts, then you understand how valuable this coupon is. Cold Stone has some amazing flavors and combinations, and you gotta love their sizes – ‘Like it’, ‘Love it’, and ‘Gotta Have it’.
Well, that will cover me for three lunches and a dessert for the week of my birthday. Please share if you know of any restaurants to complete my quest for the totally free lunch week.
For more ideas or restaurants to look into, check out this article. Also, one honorable mention I’d like to share is:
Arby’s – Free Swirl Shake with any Roastburger Sandwich purchase.

In response to Moe’s one cup of queso…. It’s a delicious nacho cheese with a mexican salsa-y twist to it. take nacho cheese, add some hot salsa… BAM, you’ve got some queso!

The Old Toad on Alexander St. in the city offers a free meal on your birthday. I’ve been to many birthday celebrations there because of the free birthday meal.

I LOVE THIS IDEA!! I thought I was the only one who did this…and got excited about it!
You know…in most restaurants if you sign up for their vip pass, fan club, or other version of that…whatever the buzz word is at that restaurant they’ll give you some pretty decent discounts year round!
