Online Shopping Tips

I frequent a lot of websites looking for good deals, but when I am shopping for a specific item, there’s a few tricks I use to find the best deal online.

Amazon.com: This is a great starting point. I usually start here for two reasons. First, to read the product reviews and perhaps narrow down the specific model I want. Secondly, to get a good idea of the ‘normal’ price for the product. Amazon will list the best prices for your product and show you how much they charge for shipping. That way I know if I come across a better deal on one of the sites below.

Dealigg.com: If I’m shopping for more of an electronic purchase, this is a great site to search. The site allows people to post any hot deals they come across from any website. So you can often find incredible deals on products. I’ll stop by this site for a quick search of the product I’m shopping for.

Google Shopping: If I don’t find a great deal on Dealigg, I’ll turn to Google’s Shopping page. You can find this by clicking ‘more’ at the top of your Google page, and then select ’shopping’ or simply go here. Once I find the product I’m looking for and click the “Compare Prices” button, the next website comes in very handy.

Retail Me Not: I use this site in conjunction with Google Shopping. When I get to the Google screen that lists all of the resellers for the product I’m looking for, I then go in and type in the store or website name on RetailMeNot.com. If they have coupons for the store, I’ll do a quick scan of them and see if they offer a coupon code for your product. You could also go right to RetailMeNot.com and do a search for your product and see if it comes up.

Google Coupon Code Search: Finally, If I can’t find a coupon code on RetailMeNot.com I’ll turn to Google again and search for the website name I’m buying from, as well as the words ‘coupon code’ or ‘discount code’. I will only do this if their website I’m purchasing the product from has a ‘coupon code’ or ‘discount code’ field. Many times I can find a coupon code that works.
